Two More Green Sheep

In 2021 we welcomed two wonderful new sheep to the flock; Duong and James!

Duong joined us in July as a project architect with a wealth of experience in small to medium sized firms. His vast knowledge and attention to detail are matched only by his eternal enthusiasm.

James joined the team later in the year as a graduate fresh from studying his masters degree at The University of Melbourne. He has a passion for sustainable design and architecture that has fun.

A Maaemo Hat Trick!

We were super excited to see our project Maaemo pick up three awards at the 2021 Building Design Awards in October!

Winner: Design Matters 2021 Building Design Awards Residential Small Home Dwelling Up to 150 sqm

The judges said: "Out-there and not holding back! Wow, does this extension pack a punch. Colonnaded pergola pulls you outside while extending the interior space. A beautiful home."

Winner: Design Matters 2021 Building Design Awards Residential Outdoor Space

The judges said: "Well framed, low maintenance outdoor spaces are shear beauty. Servery window and bifold doors connect inside to out and most of all it brings a big smile as it appears to be a happy home in which to live."

Winner: Design Matters 2021 Building Design Awards Design Alterations & Additions $350,001-$800K

The judges said: "Raking ceilings and indoor-outdoor spaces make it appear much larger. A once small and tired house is now bright and family friendly with materials, details and style to love."

Carbon Neutral!

We’re carbon neutral! And we’re really proud of it. We spent several months working hard to audit and quantify our carbon consumption as a firm. Pangolin Associates helped us measure everything - from the carbon produced driving our cars, right down to the amount of paper we use. With that, we identified ways to reduce our consumption. Finally, we were able to offset every unavoidable bit of carbon we use by donating to the Jari/Amapá REDD+ Project in Brazil.

Merry Merri House

Elyte Focus have been working hard on site at our latest Northcote renovation + extension. Demolition is well and truly done while the frame is almost complete. Our team enjoyed going up to the newly constructed mezzanine and taking in the incredible views at our last site visit.
