10 Glorious Years of Arli!

Congratulations to the one and only Arli, who has just celebrated 10 wonderful years as a Green Sheep!

Arli is the cornerstone of the office. He keeps us all in check and makes sure everything is running as it should. He's been described as a sheet set assassin, a documentation wizard and a recycling extraordinaire.

We feel so lucky to get to work with such a kind, helpful, professional and respectful person everyday and we can't wait to see what the next 10 years hold.

Sustainability in Small Practice:

For a week in April, we had a great time guest hosting the Australian Architect's Declare Instagram account.

In their words “Australian Architects Declare is part of an international network of architectural practices committed to addressing the climate and biodiversity emergency.”

We used the week as an opportunity to discuss some of the challenges and opportunities small firms face when navigating the world of sustainability, and to also give insight into some of the strategies we use to meet our sustainability goals.

Here’s a sneak peek of some things we’ve been imagining up….

GSC Brunswick East
This renovation-extension project in Brunswick East sits on a tight site with a south facing backyard. The main drivers from the brief were to maximise the garden area and its interaction with the house as well as getting north light into the living spaces.

GSC Diamond Creek
Here’s a snapshot of some of the materials and colours making their way into our Diamond Creek project. Drawing from the tones seen across the sprawling site’s native vegetation, the palette incorporates rich materiality with distinctive pops of colour.
