As we turn the corner into spring, the Green Sheep Collective team has taken a moment to reflect and think about the things that really put smiles on our dials this winter, the things that feel like they mattered and gave us that big hit of hope in this uncertain time. We thought we’d share our top three with you and would love to hear if you’ve got a winter highlight yourself. 1) The close of another financial year meant the opportunity for more 1% for the Planet donations. We love spending time selecting organisations that resonate with our values for us to donate to. This year these are the 5 we chose: These organisations are all doing incredible work for our planet and we’re thrilled that we’re able to support them. If you’re keen to learn more about 1% for the Planet click HERE. 2) The Matildas. WOW. Where were you for THAT game? What an incredible moment in time. Seeing the nation come together to watch, support and celebrate an incredible group of women felt like a watershed moment in our country’s history. We’re still thinking about that Kerr goal, and Fowler’s penalty, and Arnold backing up that penalty save, and we will be for some time. (We’ve dropped orange from this newsletter’s colour palette in celebration… we know it’ll mean a lot to the team). 3) The last thing is that we’re finally feeling validated in our continued push to get our clients off gas. The big announcement from Dan Andrews stating that all new homes must be off gas was both welcome and timely. Yes, it’ll be a big transition, but it’ll be an even bigger step towards a more sustainable future given the use of gas is one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. Gas prices have been soaring and leaving us all in the lurch, often forcing us to choose between being warm in our homes or staying on top of our bills. This is a great step towards the electrification of Australia and empowering us all to have greater control over the energy that goes into running our homes.
